CPU and MOBO upgrade

Do you not understand what i write? I read the specs and I also said that minimum specs are much lower than that.

I said that the x6 is supposed to be equivalent in performance to the quad core. It doesn't mean that it is going to utilize the six cores. That 960 is a quad core so I don't know why you would need six cores when you in reality you need at most 4 cores.

Intel Socket 1366 processors ran hot. SandyBridge ran a lot cooler and had more processing power. My brother I believe has a Core i7 930 Quad-Core. It is a nice processor but he runs it with liquid cooling.

I didn't say you were getting a 960, did I?

I know you said ivy and z77 because I confirmed a couple of posts before that your combo is good....

Had to look up b the word bipolar, hardy har har, so funny. No, I'm getting irritated right now about machin3 being a cheese hole.

I think you need to calm down a bit. He was only trying to give you advice, and I agree with his advice. He's not an Intel fanboy, it's just it's hard to be an AMD fanboy at the moment because their current range are quite frankly, poor. The fact that the previous generation chips beat the newer chips at stock speeds speaks volumes about Bulldozer and AMD. :/ I think you were a bit harsh to him on the first page of this thread too, he wasn't going off topic, he was trying to help you out. Read other people's advice, take it in, and decide for yourself if you're going to follow it or not.

Right ok you've decided on the MSI Z77 board and an Ivy i5, end of discussion I say.

I wasn't trying to be rude at all, and if you thought that I was, well then I'm sorry. I just don't like to repeat myself and find it annoying if people just skip over advice that's meant to be read.
