Have I fried my CPU???? :/ [solved]
Hi,
I have a i7 2600k water cooled. I was working today when I got an alert warning me that the CPU was runing at 79C! I shut down immediatley and let it cool down. I suspected the water pump had conked out as the RAD and pipes were cold, I powered back up for a few seconds to check. As suspected the pump had gone. The barbs of the water block were blisteringly hot, I mean skin burning temps. There was no smoke and when I put my nose over it I couldn't smell anything burnt.
I'm worried sick I've cooked my beloved i7. I'm not in a position to buy another one right now. I've never had this happen before so I'm looking for the opinions of the techs round here.
