I keep noticing you say your not buying anything "offline" its online just to tell you

Yeah I had the same problem haha, smart thing to do. Well it will save you tons of money if you buy online on NewEgg, but if you can't convince your parents just go with the 8500GT, I suppose when you get a job you can always upgrade later.

Sure, you just fill out a withdrawal slip with your account # on it and bring ID to the teller. They just take it out of your account. They don't have that over there?

well i can afford an 8600gt, i can get one for 95 bucks and looking at the specs its twice as good as the 8500gt, but that will be all my money but if its worth it i will...looking at the specs the 8600gt is almost twice the performce then the 8500gt

It is twice the performance. It also takes up a lot more power which is why we are recommending a power supply. And I don't think your warranty will cover replacing the whole computer because you stuffed a nice card on a really bad PSU haha.

Haha, could you pay your dad cash if you use his credit card online? That's really going to save you a lot of money. You can get your 8600GT for $50. Here's one with free shipping too.

NewEgg also has a huge selection on power supplies. When I stop by Best Buy and stuff they only have like 2 or 3, and they're like $70. You don't even need one as nice as the ones in stores. You can probably get the PSU for around $30 or $40. With the PSU that's still cheaper than what you were going to spend on the 8600GT.

If you don't have access to a credit card but want to order things online (and live in the US), just go to your local CVS or something and pick up an American Express Gift card (or Mastercard giftcard). They'll charge you $5 more than the actual value but you can use it to buy things online. I believe they come in increments of $25, $50 and $100.
