Didnt wanna create seperate thread, so gonna ask here.

All my life I only bought 2 PCs : asus and HP. Didnt have problems , both of PC ran well for almost 7 years. Still using the HP one. Counting 8. Wont make it :p. My friends always bought from people ( "Specialists") who made their PCs from scratch, and always they had problems with them. One or another part didnt work properly and etc. Heard some rumors that PCs from scratch isnt really reliable. I dont think so, but still want other peoples opinions. Is this just a rumor or its kinda true?

I don't really think it would be a "rumor" as its just reminds having trouble. Nope, there isn't Amy truth to that. I have a PC that was custom built 11 years ago, still running. It also of course depends on component quality, which nobody on this thread reccomeneded crappy components. A pre built is just as likely to break as DIY.

I still have nearly all my hardware that I've bought from when I started fiddling with PCs (~5 years) - unless I've sold it of course.
The only static PC that hasn't changed is my signature PC, the rest has been built and rebuilt in many configurations over and over. But I've seen many OEM machines fail at work.
What I suspect is that the 'specialists' probably skimped on parts as well, as they often (at least here in Denmark) don't list which PSU is included, only the wattage. Maybe they write "16GB DDR3 RAM" and nothing else. Stuff like that.
The recommendations you get here are only quality parts, and if it's not, someone will point it out quickly.
