The benchmarks I saw showed the single x1900xt out performing a 512 7800gtx, but the 2 x1900xt in crossfire mode performed behind the 512 7800gtx in SLI.

how is that possible? are you saying crossfire mathod is not as good as SLI?

you would have to get one of those and one X1900 Crossfire edition, which has the X1900XT clock speeds I believe.

you are right, i just didn't bother looking for it, hehe

Im not saying that they perform better, but i would rather have that card.

I would much rather buy the best card for the buck. Whether that is ATi or Nvidia. But that of course is just me using common sense again :).

i read somewhere that the crossfire has the potential to be good as if not better than SLI but its still new and Nvidia has had SLI longer which is why Nvidia has the upper hand in the dual card area.

Nvidia is better...i think they have really taken over the graphics industry ATM and ATI is trying to play catchup as we are seeing with their new line. As linking two cards SLI is still better then Crossfire since crossfire still needs time to develop and work its way onto more mobos

I think that Crossfire is better than SLI.

Anyways, i just wanted to tell everyone that if your considering getting an x800GTO, get it! The one i have overclocks very good, right now i have the core at 560Mhz, 400Mhz Stock. The highest i've gotten so far on stock cooling is 560/1130, 400/980 stock.

not easy to pick one out , they are both great ,
i have worked with an Nvidia , had no problems with it ,
now i have an ati card , no problems till now

Well actually, the X1800XT blows it out of the water! So it goes without saying that im an Ati man through and through, and the only compliment I have for Nvidia is their SLI technology is a bit better than Crossfire...

I see that this post hasn't been updated for a long time, so ill dive right in!

Until not so long ago, Nvidia with its 7-series cards were miles ahead, with X1800 series cards, the gap came closer, but with X1900 series cards, Nvidia have lost out. The problem is that there arn't enough 7800 GTX 512 around compaired with X1900 cards- So until the G-71 card arrives, ATI is king!!

Mankz

Even so I will still be an Ati man, and by the time Nvidia get their act together and finally realease the G-71 series Ati will probaly have something else again!

Yes- thats why ive bitten the bullet and orderd a X1900Xt Card!

Mankz-

Ohh the frame rate with Dual Dual Core Opterons !!!

I like NVIDIA better because compared the ATI the drivers are easier to intsall. I had a friend who had trouble with is ATI drivers, I in the other hand never had any problem with NVIDIA.

I have only ever used Ati and have never had any problems with the driver install, though i cant make a comment on Nvidia drivers because i've never used them!

I really back my vote for ATI now more than ever because I have seen how my X1900XT performs.... and WOW!

Ya but as soon as the 7900 series comes out, ATi will be working on their next card so it doesn't matter

To me they are both equal in performance, just depends on the time you get it! :D

I wonder what ATi's new card will be... X2000?:)
