Most motherboards that do come with integrated graphics cards are ATI
Definitely so for laptops but i dont think its that cleancut for desktop mobos ... S3 and Intel come pretty often :)

NVIDIA all the way!!! ATI sort of reminds me of Ferrari, and NVIDIA reminds me of Lamborghini. They both are really powerful, but NVIDIA/Lambo. are always just a little bit more muscle. I mean 6800Ultra vs. X850, who do you think wins? Its like a Murcialago vs. a F50. I think that the Murcialago wins that competiton slightly, jsut like the 6800Ultra slightly beats out the X850. Correct me if i'm wrong. (I like cars if you didn't notice)

Well if you compared similarly classed cards you might be surprised to find the X850XT[PE] pulls ahead quite a few times but to compare a 16x6 card to a 12x5 card is not a fair competition by any means.

A Murcielego would never beat an Enzo, who cares about F-50's anymore. I feel like Lamborghinis are to look at while Ferraris are to race. I love cars as well :D

I like nVidia, theres nothing out there that can beat SLI Ultras or GTs. Not to mention the X850XT PE costs a good deal amount more then a 6800 Ultra for only a small performance gain. ATI is playing catch up for sure.

No, the nVidia GeForce 6800ultra is like a Koenigsegg CCR (the fastest production car in the world) ATI had to make a new card in order to just keep up with nVidia. Also nVidia is the only one so far with SLI.

what if I put a GF6800Ultra in my car.... :P

the car analogy can work if done right but you gotta use generic cars none of this 'my ferrari is better than your lambourgini' as not many people have driven those types of cars

Okay, my Ford Festiva (Radeon 9600XT) is better than your Geo Metro (FX5700) :P

well my cheap-mans sports car aka ford mustang (6600GT) is better than someones ford pinto (intel extreme graphics)

nVidia's stuff isn't that much cheaper than ATI's it's just the high end GF6 parts have been out slightly longer than the x800XTPE/850XTPE series

Bah thats only in a straight line. I bet a supercharged viper would romp that thing in the quarter mile.

Anywayz staying on topic... nVidia rulez!! :D

Hopefully it will stay that way. SLi wasn't/isn't that great, and for the price you pay for dual cards you don't get 2X the performance like you think you would.

it's like buying 2 vid cards for $300 each, but the second one only performs ~65% of what it really should...you're paying more for less if you look at the cards individually. with a portion of the money you spend on SLi you can get a single card further up the line that performs at around the same speeds as the matched cards.

Wasn't/isn't that great? It just came out a couple months ago, it's only going to get better. What your saying is the second card only works at %65 but the first one works at %100 which would equal %165 effeciancy as opposed to %100 on a single card (which I don't think any of those numbers are right to begin with). In any event just look at the test results, games that had AA and AF turned on performed SIGNIFICANTLY better with dual cards, and I don't know why you would buy a top of the line video card to begin with if you aren't going to set the games you play to the highest level.

I've tried both, and a couple years ago I would have said Nvidia with that TNT2, but now ATI has been giving extra power, and not cheating people on features (directx7 built-in to modern cards?!?!?! COME ON NVIDIA!), while keeping prices down and usually the form factor is better (nvidia sometimes puts HUGE heatsinks and cooling fans on their cards). Also, if the X850XT can actually compare to SLI, that says something good about ATI or really bad about SLI (Nvidia needs to completely reinvent SLI in their 2nd generation, there are WAY too many bugs in it right now).

Oh yeah, and about that CCR vs. Viper, as much as I hate exotics and love american muscle, the viper doesn't stand a chance to most euro exotics. I thought the Bugatti Veyron was the fastest, but that was a couple years ago, maybe you're right. It's also spelled lamborghini.

That analogy is fine though, top-of-the-line vs. top-of-the-line. If you're talkin mid-class overclocked maybe a KB Mustang vs. a turboed Z06 Vette, or low-class overclocked that don't do crap when it comes to new games, you could compare some jap crap ricers to each other like a supercharged, (OF COURSE NOS'ed) Evo vs. a NOS'ed, possibly NOS'ed, maybe even a NOS'ed Eclipse. And if it's a low-end overclocked gaming PC, you could compare the same cars with ground effects and maybe NOS'ed engines (or NOS'ed) with about 400 tv's in them and, how could I possibly forget, a 40" exhaust TIP (that's gotta add about -5 horse when you count the drag and sparks on the ground and the large fruits being thrown into it constantly), that's like a mirror image for cars vs. computers.

The Veyron will be the fastest production car, but its currently not being produced. I think the ME412 holds the fastest speed currently.

I see you don't like the tuner scene, you probably just watched the fast and the furious movie and think we all go around saying NOS all the time. I know a Honda Civic that can run 7 seconds in the quarter mile (and it has NOS) which is pretty impressive for a FWD car.

And I bet that a supercharged Viper (with some other Venom performance parts) will own a CCR in a quarter mile race. Those exoctic cars aren't known for their drag abilities. A stock viper would get owned naturally.

And no one is going to turbo charge a Z06, they make super charges for that.

And as far as not having the latest DX version come with their cards it doesn't really matter since games come with the latest version anyways. And the test results I posted up show that the X850XT PE doesn't compare to SLI. All that means is is that ATI doesn't have anything better to run against it.

The turbo on the Z06, I wasn't talking realisticness, I was talking comparison. Although now that I think about it, any Z06 could have one and a Kenney Bell Stang could still take it pretty easily. I've also never seen the Fast and the Furious, mostly because it focusses on ricers that "look" good, and 2 fast 2 furious made me hate the series because they destroyed that sweet looking stang (I haven't seen it so I don't know what it was, but just the fact that they destroyed a Ford, and on top of that a Mustang, made me hate that movie). Actually, the reason I said NOS was because everyone, and I mean everyone, uses that word like they know stuff about cars, and not only that but every jap game and movie (fast and furious, nfs underground, etc.) uses that stuff like it's stock.

That mustang was supposed to be a saleen, but in truth it was a regular mustang with some body panels glued on.

As far as nitrous goes it is very inexpensive for a dry shot of nitrous and will fit on almost all applications. In these games and movies where these cars are supposed to have thousands of dollars in upgrades spent on them nitrous would be pretty much stock :) And I bet you didnt mind that when the Shelby GT500 in gone in 60 seconds used nitrous to escape a police helicopter :)
