I voted nvidia because it seems like ati/amd are asleep at the wheel, but ive owned both types of cards and i purchase based on whos on top at that time

I just got a new EVGA nVidia Geforce 8600 GTS and it is so much better than my other computer's ATI Radeon X1950

Go nVidia!
I dont know what your using for a comparison, or what model x1950 you have, but I did some researching and the x1950PRO is better overall then the 8600GTS. Now if you had the x1950XT/X, the difference would be even greater.

ATI is a programming mess.

Ati's current generation uses too much power and generates too much heat.

Ati is just as good as Nvidia but ATI somewhat has driver/programming issues when it comes to gaming. I believe all the problems with ATI are Programming wise and are very configurable. But that requires at least some knowlege of programming and some research.

ATI MAKES LOTS OF HEAT AND LOTS OF RESOURCES.

NVIDIA IS STICKING WITH STANDARDS and Has more compatbilty.
I think ATI has their heads stuck up their chips too much.

But business is business.

I wouldnt want to be ATI, too many people are angry witht their cards, and I think Nvidia is working with ATI Marketing wise.

no research here just a hunch.

Had both ATI and NVidia....

Each time I've just gone for whichever suits my needs and the amount of cash in my pocket at the time...

Currently have Nvidia 7950GX2 but who knows what I'll get next....

STILL NVIDIA!!

I love my 8800GTX, beats the living crap out of the old X1300PRO, not like that wasn't expected. ATI had buggy drivers and Catalyst in anyway was buggier than the Vista Beta release, lol.
