i just want a pc that runs my games nicely without changing my whole pc
then don't upgrade lol, the only real advantage of the fx-60 is that its got a few more mhz which most games dont use anyways... and then its dual core, which most games dont support anyways.
if you must get another AMD, i highly suggest an opty 165 or an x2 3800+... they o/c like crazy and theyre super cheap... even new. you could probably find one on ebay for $100 or so.
the only reason i think that is worth it is because its cheap, probably a lot more overclockable, and dual core... dual core being the prime advantage...
make sure your mobo supports dual core procs though.
i just dont think the fx-60 is worth it if you can get a core 2 duo for less than $150 more...
not to mention more memory running at faster speeds and probably a better motherboard than the one you've got just because its a newer model... supports sata2 and raid 0...
i mean, video card will definitely matter a lot more than cpu when it comes to games, and soon enough games will rely a lot less on the cpu because of the new physics processing technologies that are coming out like aegia and ATI's Havok FX boundless gaming...
i mean three video cards in one computer...
cpu will still matter, but a LOT less...
