Required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing error

Disable the Marvell controller in the BIOS. I always advise using Intel over Marvell - usually faster for a start.

Will do. I really hope my ssd isn't bad since it will be the 4th product to go bad... 4 faulty items out of 10 really is bad. And I really treat the components with care and wear anti static so it can't be my fault.

After over an hour in, still no BSOD :) I've been able to install all my applications and games. But I'm not getting my hopes up just yet. Ill most likely do some intense gaming tonight (catch up on my time off :P )

I just hope it will last.

Its getting better. I got 3 hours without a BSOD. Ill try once again to see if it will improve again.

Nope. I know that will fix it but its a pain moving stuff over and that. And I want the SSD to be my boot drive. I just hope the BSOD will slow down.

It's no good not getting them as regularly, you want them gone completely. It's worth trying installing Windows on your HDD, just so you know the SSD isn't the problem. Plug in the HDD, install Windows onto it once you've got your data moved off, don't even connect the SSD, then see if the problems persist.

What Windows disc are you using to install Windows? Genuine or copied/burned?

I'm using a genuine disc.

I am almost certain its the SSD that's causing the problems. I've seen many more having the same problem while researching, it should be fix by updating the firmware on the drive. After the next BSOD Ill update the firmware too see if that solves it.

You should definitely try updating the firmware, so yeah, that's a good idea. If that does fix it, try using Windows on the HDD with no SSD connected.

Sorry to butt in but that "Required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing" error is the most infuriating message/problem I have ever come across in my life.

I had the exact problem in 2009 and spent the good part of a month testing every component and scratching my head / pulling my hair out over it.

Turned out it was a Board/Memory incompatibility. I went through various drives, drivers, installation disks, RAM, BIOS's, Power Supply's, OC settings and RAID controllers before it got sorted.

I wouldn't wish that error on anybody :P

More trouble...:/

After following ocz guide to update the firmware. I got the correct applications etc, it said that it failed to update the drive and know it will no longer detect in BIoS at all. Tried everything to have it detected :/

Yeah I think it will. If it does, you need to contact OCZ's support and send your drive back to them and get them to replace it for you.

Once I get the drive back from OCZ. Will I have to clean install Windows and loose everything again, or is there a way to move eveything over ?

Thanks again for the help Spirit

You won't get the same drive back, they'll most probably just send you a new one. That's what Crucial did for me the other week.

If you use the Windows Backup and Restore and image your system to a HDD, when you get your new SSD, you can boot off your Windows 7 disk and image Windows back from the HDD without having to completely install the OS and all your other programs.

That's what I do, saves loads of time.

Sill no BSOD after downloading over 10 games/programs + drivers. And been playing AC3 for 30mins(the only game that uses cloud saving)

So it looks to be guaranteed the SSD now. Ill try and see If I can do anything with it tomorrow, otherwise Ill have to RMA my 5th/10 component.

What I'd suggest is use the PC for at least a day before you confirm the SSD is the issue. Use the PC as much as you can today, then if you get no problems, ring up OCZ on Monday.

Oh will do, I need to catch up on some gaming. Considering I've lost all my save files I need to reach where I previously was :D

I do notice the difference in speed between both the drives, I'm suprised with the big difference in speed.
