My new 3rd motherboard has just arrived. All my previous issues have been resolved but I've ran into a new problem.

When attempting to install windows on my ssd I have that message. I know its not a bad OS disk, what could be the problem ?

Forgot to note
It works fine on my hdd, but I really want to use the ssd as the boot drive.

Any fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Never mind, fixed it.

Is it possible to update the BIOS from Windows without using a USB ?
My GPU will not work until I upgrade the BIOS.

It's best if you update the BIOS through the existing BIOS. Usually you download the BIOS file in Windows, copy it onto a USB drive, reboot your machine, boot into the BIOS, and then use the BIOS flashing utility in the BIOS to flash the BIOS from the USB drive. That is the safest way to do it.

Read your board manual first though.

Hmmm :/
After around 10minutes in Windows I always end up getting blue screen of death.
What could the problem be ?

When I run applications(driver updates)
The programme always stops responding and I get a BSOD.
The error says disabled or remove newly installed hardware.

I can't test my RAM until tomorrow at the least. And I hardly think its a RAM error anyway, but I might be wrong. What else can it possible be ?

I'm honestly on the verge of giving up as it problem after problem with this system.

If the problem isn't the RAM, it could be your SSD. After having gong through several motherboards and checking your power supply, I'm thinking it's either RAM or SSD.

Try installing Windows on your WD Red HDD and see if the same problem occurs. The WD Red could actually be the problem, so you could try disconnecting it and seeing if Windows still plays up.

For some reason, when I try and update the BIOS, The q flash (Update facility) does not detect the usb, The usb does appear in the BIOS however ?

Are there any other ways to update your BIOS?

It's a bit weird that your GPU will not work unless you update the BIOS...

Many have had the same issues as I'm having. The bios is stuck at the flash screen with the GPU installed. An update to the BIOS will fix it.

But for some reason when trying to flash the bios. It will not recognize my USB, tried with 2 sticks.

Cheers, thanks again Spirit.
No the ud5h. Got it on sale for £140.

I've done the BIOS update and my gtx 670 works fine now.

I'm also downloading the drivers from Gigabyte's website. No BSOD so far. I'm starting to think it was the motherboard's drivers disc that was causing the BSOD's.

What are the drivers that I need to install ? I've got audio and USB 3.0. Do I need the SATA drivers ? What about the chipset and VGA drivers ?
