ryzen 7-2700x vs 7-3700x

    In price there is a 25% difference but not a 25% increase in performance. So wouldn't the ryzen 7-2700x be a better bang for the buck?

    Get the 2700x, as you said, there is really no increase in performance. Though 3700x is only 65 watts compared to the 105 watt 2700x.

    There's a very good chance both are way overkill for what you do.
    This is just flat wrong?

    Sure it's not a night and day difference but saying they're the same is just incorrect.

    Well if money isn't a concern then yeah, get the 3700x but for a measly 13 percent performance increase for a user that doesn't do anything demanding is probably not worth it. Paying 75-100 bucks more for a 13 percent increase may not be worth it.

    Which is why I'm wondering if a 2700X is even worthwhile.

    I personally think they are both viable.

    The 3700x might actually be worth it with the low power draw. Stick in a low wattage efficient PSU and save some bucks on your power bill.
