Something I never noticed, before now.

UPDATE: I replaced the LAN cable, which apparently had intermittent problems.
Do you actually need 8 dB antennas? Just playing on the 2.4 GHz range you'll pick up -more- neighboring interference and it will perform worse.
I appreciate you bringing this up, after I mentioned having the higher gain antennas on the router. To be honest, I hadn't put much thought in the possibility of interference from other networks. (Previously, I needed them due to renting a much larger apartment, here in town.)

Anyway, I became curious and noticed it was dropping packets fairly often, with the 8dB gain antennas. (I ran a ping test, and checked to find four other nearby WiFi signals, all using the same frequency range. One was transmitting on the same channel, in fact.) Since replacing them with the original antennas my WiFi connection is now solid. I don't see any packet loss, whatsoever. So, thanks for that.

I will put in an order for a 5 GHz router, since that range doesn't seem to be used here.
