If you're getting dual screens, then go for 2 standard screens. The wide screens would be SO wide combined, that it would be something of an annoyance for you to look back and forth from each. If gaming and DVD's are out of your future, and you're doing productivity work then by all means - 2 standard 19" monitors is PERFECT for you.
My uncle has my dream computer. Literally. X6800, 4GB RAM, 8800GTX, X-Fi Platinum, P5NSLI, and 2 Samsung 19" standard monitors. Asked about why he goes with the two vs widescreen or single? He does alot of productivity, and its important to have two monitors of same size and same specifications to utilize. If with that computer and the priority business he deals with is good enough for twin 19's, I'm sure you are too!

Your ownly other option would be to get one large 22-24" monitor. But, for your needs, just get the twin 19" standard monitors!
Lol if you had said that at the beginning, we would have gotten to the bottom of this a long time ago! lol
Edit: Oh yeah, make sure you buy two of the same monitors. As said, they need to have the same specifications. It's much harder on your eyes looking from a 19" monitor with 200nit brightness and 500:1 contrast then looking at a more expensive monitor with 350nit and 800:1 - the quality and image difference will wear your eyes a bit if doing productivity work.
