Not for a notebook i am pretty sure it is the wires to the monitor that are causing the issue with the laptop and that is why the laptop works fine from an outside source such as the tv through a hdmi cable.

Nah i updated both the intel and Nvidia graphics card drivers already to make sure they weren't the issue i now have a picture of both running hdmi from the laptop to my TV. Looking at this i am pretty sure it's a video card to monitor connection that is the issue.

Not a new one, and this laptop is currently still under warranty so I don't want to go pulling it apart and risk losing the warranty status.

Thanks for the quick reply the problem is happening all the time it is happening right now as i am typing this i have blue lines and a blue screen it is like a cable is loose in the graphics card to monitors connection.

It doesn't really matter who caused it anyway you look at it this is a bad situation good to see you sent him half the money now let him sort out a new computer and reinstalling his programs onto it.

Well you wouldn't believe it 2 days ago i get a call saying that the person i just replaced all these parts for (just over 1 month ago) saw a flash in their case followed by the computer being fully off. So he says to me that he needs a new power supply So i go and get a power supply for him...

try playing .wav music files on your old cd player hopefully this will work. The music will sound better anyway as you will get more quality (kbps) out of them. Only problem is you won't fit as many songs in .wav format as you would .mp3 songs on a single disc.

When possible i buy all my parts by Asus they have the best reliability/tech support for a hardware manufacturer in the world.

I am very much looking forward to the trailer tomorrow and meanwhile while waiting for GTA V i will continue my progress to fully 100% GTA IV. :P (strangers, pidgeons, stunt jumps, GFWL achievements).

+1 i'd say your powersupply is shot but try resetting the CMOS as you never know. Good luck and let us know how you went.

I am pretty lucky here I have Bigpond broadband (Aus) they own the lines and allocate the most ping to it's members.

whenever this happens to me i just reset the router with a pin or something and then you can get back to the router settings page.

Look for any monitor by Samsung i'd say 24" or higher and you couldn't go wrong.

Lol this is what i thought from the start but he insists he wants a new motherboard and that is all. Seems i can't win here in Australia the only chance i probally have of finding a socket 478 motherboard is at a Computer Fair held every 2 weeks on a sunday i am hoping to get there this sunday...
