    Laptop under $500

I've been meaning to get a laptop for a while now but don't really have that much money. I was thinking of spending no more than $500. I mostly need it to surf the web, play a game here and there (nothing fancy), and do other daily tasks. I was looking at some laptops for $450 which I think...

I think they're dead pixels, I'm not sure

You can search google for a dead pixel tester. Each site is a bit different, but most of them are good at detecting dead pixels.

Upgrading 3850 to 4870 current psu enough power?

You need at least 500W and 2 6-pin connectors. Your PSU is fine, but make sure you have 2 of those 6-pin connectors. Plus, the 4870 is pretty big so make sure you have enough room inside.

Would like some help picking a new card.

O btw, the size I mentioned above is for the 4850. The 4870 is a bit longer than that. It also needs 2 6-pin connectors while the 4850 only needs 1.

    Help with video upgrade.

You could look at the manual/website if you remember the model of the PSU. Otherwise, just open up the case and the wattage should be listed on the side of the PSU. It only takes a few secs.

    PCI and PCI Express Problems!!

If I understand correctly, you want to run 3 monitors with 2 different graphics cards. you can't run 2 different video cards like that. use only one or the other. I don't see why you would want to use the 5200 when you have a 8600. just use 2 monitors for the 8600.

Best bang for 300$ or perhaps bide my time?

get 8800GT since its the best bang for your buck right now. it beat the GTS and comes fairly close to the GTX from the benchmarks that i've seen. you can use it with xp but on games, you won't be able to enable the DX10 features. you will need vista for that.

    upgrading

ur pc looks fine to me. i dont see what u really need to upgrade. the only i would do is OC the processor if u havent done it already. other than that, it looks fine for light gaming. video conversions and backups are gonna take long depending on file size, etc so u can't really do anything...
