So I'm back from my wedding/honeymoon :) Ordering some parts from newegg and purchasing other parts from the local Micro Center this week. Any input on a good SSD to go with? I only need ~120GB, but will pay more for higher capacity if it is a good deal.

If you have any kind of Linux boot disc you can put that in and go into BIOS and change the setting so it boots from disc. If it boots into that disc ok then you know it's a problem with the hard drive. Like johnb said, run the diagnostic on it and Windows might be able to fix whatever errors...

I would just turn down the fan speed while at full load and keep an eye on the temps. Like salvage-this said, keep it around 50c or lower. Once you're at about 50c under full load, don't turn down the fan speed any lower. Hopefully that will be quiet enough! Otherwise, get a better...
