    Quick Help?

WRONG!!! whether its proprietary or not, you can still use a screw driver to turn it on, its just a matter of figuring out which 2 pins would do that. IF you still have the old dell case, look to see which color cables are coming from the power button, follow it to the plug, and simply short...

    Sata drive question

I was referring to HDDs in that post. The OP did not specify. Informational. If windows doesnt recognize it without drivers, and its his only Optical Drive, he wont be able to boot to start Install.

    Sata drive question

Optical drives most likely need the SATA ports to operate in IDE emulation mode, otherwise Windows might not recognise it.

    someting wrong with memory

32BIT OS (by default) can only use 3.2GB of RAM in Vista. If you see less, thats usually integrated graphics. With Service Pack 2 on Vista, you can "see" 4GB, but cant use it all. Windows 7 will see the all the RAM without service pack, but can only use 4GB if its 32Bit. 64BIT supports up 128GB...

New Build.. Good CPU Cooler for 4+Ghz

IF you do a quick google search, you'll see that the H60 is about 2 degrees hotter than the megahelams when OC beyond 4Ghz. the majority of the Sites also show the H60 consistently beating the Noctua NH-D14 in overclocked performance. and the H60 is much quieter than the air solutions as well...

    someting wrong with memory

Your signature states that you have a dedicated GPU. Maybe your bios is still setting aside RAM for the integrated GPU. Also, you're running 32bit Windows - which can only effective use about 3.2gb of your 4gb anyways. But still, 700mb for video is a bit odd. What else can you tell us about...

Which CPU is better for medicore gaming?

I agree with you. But it is hard for any of us to make a recommendation as the OP has not stated his budget. My point is that AMD is great value/dollar and tons of performance for all the non-gamers out there.

New Build.. Good CPU Cooler for 4+Ghz

Its all self contained. Chances of leaks is very low as all the seals are factory made. This one is probably easier to install than most air coolers.

Which CPU is better for medicore gaming?

Well, you have to think about future proofing too. The AMD x4 and x6 Cpus offer much better futureproofing for the average user than the i3 can. The i3 isnt THAT much faster. Comparision you posted is true, but you have to take into consideration the clock speeds of the 2 CPUs. The i3 was...

    problems with new GPU

To reset your bios do the following. 1. Unplug PC from outlet 2. Remove the battery on the motherboard. 3. Short the connection - use a metal paper clip (or anything that conducts like, a nail) to join the positive and negative leads where the battery sat - of course you took it out in step 2...

question about having 2 hard drives.

^ Hahaha, had to scroll up to get it. But the poster is asking for benefits of a second drive. So RAID is definately a benefit. Hopefully this thread stays clean :)

New Build.. Good CPU Cooler for 4+Ghz

Well, its in the same price range as high end air coolers. All self contained, so theres no setup involved. Its superior to the majority of coolers out there anyways. I can care less about post count.
