Yes, I see your point very well, and I just say those who know how to build a computer do it. those who don't, and not educated in this area. I'm not saying their uneducated or dumb. Just don't have knowledge on this. It's like their brainwashed into thinking computers cant do game at all. For those of us who build computer, its not for games. Its a hobby.

and i see your point too. myself, i do know about computers. i havent kept up with it in the past few years tho. sure you can build a bad ass computer for fairly cheap (compaired to what ppl pay for inside a console). but a console is cheaper, and its not bad at all, for the money. and i do agree, some people are ignorant. just because its the 'next gen' for consoles doesnt mean it can hold a candle to todays built pc's. but thats why i consider the generations to be totally different. to think of them as the same would be like saying that a generation is every X years, because thats how often your family has kids. for other families, they may only have kids half as much, so for them, a generation is a different time span. (i hope that analogy makes sense to you guys). but also, the marketing says 'next gen', so people who dont know anybetter will believe that. it fails to mention that 'next gen' applies to the console only, not pc's as well. but thats advertising for you.

The only nice thing about a console system is that you can have it in your living room with your couch and sit back and play some games. With a computer (yea, you could put it in your living room, but how many of you actually have that), you usually are sitting in your computer chair with a mouse and a keyboard.

being in the living room isnt the only thing good about it.

you have a controller that works great. comfortable furnature. big tv. surround sound. you can stream stuff to your main stereo and tv...and thats great for parties. soon it will be iptv capable, and will be used as a dvr. and they are adding the messenger to it on the next update. it plays dvds.

sure you can do most of that on the pc too, but its not as convenient. and i can use stuff i already have. i dont have to buy a surround sound just for the pc. or a larger monitor. or a controller (wireless at that)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
im not some fanboy. but i like my 360, and for 400 bucks, its a great piece of equiptment. the saying "you get what u pay for" comes to mind. comparing a $400 console to a $1500 plus computer is like compairing an escort to a bmw.

You better get over that stuff...........I just noticed with the 360 that they are advertising processor speeds. That probably means that the next console(not elite) will have the core edition with a low-end processor and a Premium with a high-end. So what are you gonna do when the games start becoming more demanding here in a few years.

theyve advertised processor speed since day one. playstation does too.

i really doubt they make different processors in the next console lineup. part of the console deal is that everyone has the same system, internally. if they make a core console with a low-end processor, they will be cutting their own throats. by doing that, they will be limiting the games to run on the low-end setup. that would make it pointless to have a higher grade setup, because they couldnt make anything above the low standard.

but, knowing microsoft, it could happen. it seems like they like to lure you in and then break it off in you (like john wayne gacy..lol)

when I say next gen, I mean gen as what they go by :Next gen gaming.
Last time I checked, you can pay for a computer that kicks PS3 ass for the same amount as one PS3

well i guess youre right about that. but im smart enough to know better.

you may be right about the computer. but they will make games for the ps3 and 360 specifically, so there is no need for upgrades. with that computer, in a year or so, youll have to spend more money on it.

if its that important to have the newest and best, then [your gods name here] bless you. but for me, its easier to have the console that i know will have games put out for it. and ill keep my crappy computer for eveything else. i just dont care that much about it.

Plus, most games are for PC. A lot of games you cant get for a console. take Crysis for example. They have no plans at all to make it into for a console. why? Consoles don't meet the minimum requirements. Like F.E.A.R. before they had no console to be able to play it. now 360 can....at low settings. Same will be with crysis, a few years from now a console will be out that can just fit the minimum requirements. Its not complicated. You can move and have computers be just as maneuverable as a console. just buy a special strap. only $10. LAN party carriers. simple. You don't need a special hook up to tv stereo. cost $1 at Radio Shack. TV hook up is just as simple as a VCR. get 4 USB game pads.

lol...i love your enthusiasm!!!

i hear ya man. what do you want to hear?

here: your gaming pc is better than my 360.

it sounds like your on a "mission" to convert me!! LOL.

seriously tho. i know the computers graffics and all are better than the 360. but its a console. its not a computer. and as far as consoles go, its good. and its hassle free. i dont have to worry about if it will play and stuff. and i dont have to keep up with upgrades. and for the extra money, ill leave those spiffy graffics. im more about the game, than how it looks.

but then again, i havent actually witnessed the marvels of a newer gaming pc. im not sure i want to either. i might be enlightened, and look down upon my console...lol.

That's fine. My other friend was afraid of the same thing. I converted him. He is as I and others. Hay, look at it like this, I dint spend $4000+ like other people here. lol. Look at Halo on PC and X-BOX. doesn't matter to me. I'm not trying to force you to buy a PC or anything. lol. Sorry, if I was giving you that impression. Oh well. PC triumphs again!

halo ce looks like a turd on my pc. i had to play it while my 360 was getting fixed. i made a modified usb cable that lets me use my original xbox controller on the pc. works good, plus im used to it. i cant use the keyboard/mouse combo very well at all. but the pc is basic. i bought it just for networking and cd/dvd burning.

but i still stick to my 360 guns. i like it because its hassle free. i buy it and all the stuff to play comes with. so its just easier for me. it may not look the best or be true next gen gaming. but for me, its a perfect fit.

(im gonna go play it now)

Edit: how much do you have in it, as of today???

By making two consoles(Core, Premium, Like now) but with different processing abilities they will have everybody running for the Premium anyway, so bump that price up. I didn't know they advertised the processor on the old Atari's, the first Nintendos, Super Nintendos, Nintendo 64, PS One, PS2, or the Wii advertising there processing capability.

when i say 'day one', im talking about the 360's. they have had those processor numbers out since the beginning. not 'day one' in the sense that they advertised atari's speed back in the day.

I am talking about console gaming eventually colliding head-on with computer gaming and from what I see it is insured to happen. I was just trying to show you how they are evolving to become more like a computer.

Seriously, do you think anyone gave a crap about the processor speed when they bought their 360?

Microsoft just wanted to make the 360 seem powerful, but no one really cared since after all, you dont have a choice in the processing speed for an Xbox.
