You should connect the old hard drive to your new computer(this means you have to open the computer case and connect the hard disk power cable and data cable).Power on,and copy your old files to the new hard drive.

It depends on how many pc's re going to be on the network.But in any case,it would be much better and faster to use a 100mbps switch,the difference in price is not so big nowdays.

According to the .gvp extension,I assume it's a Google Video file. You could try donwloading the Google Video Player from here,and then try to open the file.

Well,4mbps is 0.47684 megabytes,so for example a 650mb file whould be downloaded in 22 minutes.IF the connection operates at maximum speed(which is a bit difficult).But in general 4mbps is a pretty fast for an internet connection.
