    which is better?

I mean, get the heat out of the case pretty much as soon as it is blown over the fins on the VF-900, so it can't drift up and warm the processor.

    which is better?

Depends on your case and airflow. If you are able to get the heat away and out of the case quickly, the VF900 is miles better. But, if the hot air would simply rise to the processor area, then the Thermaltake option would be best, as that chucks the warm air directly out the case (the VF900...

    Best way to cool 8800gts?

You're welcome to replace the air cooler, but don't come running back to us when your MOSFETS overheat. The stock cooler covers the whole card for a reason. Tbh, you're only option is to by one of those waterblocks that also cover the whole card. But they're not cheap.

    MP3 play? Any suggestion?

I would recommend a flash-based mp3 player. Cheap and durable (no moving parts). Good battery life as well. Although the best don't hold more than 4GB, do you really need that much? I found 512MB is just enough to last me a day at work. My 2GB memory card is more than enough.

two 256 in SLI MODE ...or... a 512????

That would fall under 'motherboard and case cons', not SLI cons. If the PCIe slots on your motherboard are far enough apart, and you have a large case to work with, you'll be fine.

Best Thermal Compound To Use With Liquid Cooling (Swiftech Apogee GT CPU Block)

The best TIM compound? Coollaboratory Liquid Pro is the BEST out there, although AS5 is famous, simply from word of mouth. But, we are talking about a few degrees lower than AS5 (2 or 3) at full load. Plus, Liquid Pro is very much electrically conductive (being 100& metal). It bonds to the...

SLI (and crossfire) has no cons. It's not perfect, but it works very well.

Integrated graphics aren't too bad. I remember playing CS:Source quite well on a laptop with integrated graphics 2 years ago.

    Graphics Card

Well, what games do you intend on playing? Very recent (and demanding) games, or 10 year old games? If you play new titles, and often buy just-released games, then I would recommend a 8800GTS 320MB card.

    my 3dmark06 score, need advice...

That sounds right for your setup. I get 6000 with my setup. The ONLY way to improve that score is to overclock your 8800GTS and CPU (oc-ing memory will help slightly as well).

    good or not?

Buying a computer that is built by another company is always more expensive than if you built it yourself. That will definitely last a long time, but I would recommend getting a 32-bit operating system, rather than 64-bit, as 64-bit has poor driver support when compared to 32-bit.

Crysis optimized for quad core and core 2 extreme

What they mean with the word 'optimised' is that the game has been coded to use 4 cores. This doesn't mean you get a 400% performance increase over a single core, as most of the game code will be single threaded ie NOT able to be spread over multiple cores.

Review and help on new build

You'll need an operating system. Might be an idea to pick up a 8600GT (or a 8500GT if the 8600 is too much); will allow you to play DX10 games if you get Vista.

    Too much thermal paste

Too much paste simply cannot affect temperatures. If you have bolted/clipped your heatsink down correctly, excess paste will be squeezed out. The drop in temps is nowhere as big as people make it out to be. 5 degree drop at the most. Most people get a drop of 3C as the paste settles.

    North bridge cooler

If a graphics card was to be put in the slot furthest from the slot, it would hit the Thermaltake heatsink, due to the card going directly over the chipset.
