    Computer Memory Leak

Might need some duct tape to seal the tubes back up.

    New mobo,Ram, Was i lucky?

I guess so, yeah. The only possible problem with swapping parts is your O/S will freak out and pull its hair out. Sometimes it can happen, sometimes not.

    Need Advice on New Rig

Core 2 Quad is unnecessary right now, unless you plan on encoding 4 movies at the same time, non-stop. So, go for Core 2 Duo. And, SLI over Crossfire, as Nvidia provide better drivers than ATI at the moment. It's the drivers that determine how much of a benefit you get from SLI/Crossfire.

    Physx Accelerator Card, Benefits?

A Physx card will help if you play games, or run software, that requires a lot of calculations to be done (e.g., playing Half-Life 2 with lots of moving objects, where acceleration and forces need to be calculated instantly). It can remove some of the strain from the CPU. But, with games taking...

    Heat Testing.

If this is for your FX-60 build, get yourself PC Wizard 2006 (tells you temps of both cores), and Orthos to get both cores running at 100% for maximum heat.

    Two questions

A Core 2 Duo, running at 1.86GHz, is just two processors running side by side at 1.86GHz. So, you could encode 2 movies at the same time (one per processor).

Are RAM heatsinks any good ?

Copper heatsinks would be a good option (assuming there's airflow). Lots of surface area to cool the chips down. If you have 3 or 4 sticks, you will have to settle with heatspreaders. If you have the money (and the room), buy 2 of the Thermalright HR-07's. They are the best for cooling at the...

Can someone help me find the steps or help me find out how to OverClock a E6600?

All overclocking should only be done in the BIOS. As you've enabled oc-ing, there should be further options somewhere in the BIOS.

Holy Cow I Feel So Cool!!

Those temps. Are they CPU temp, or core temps? What are you using to measure the temps?

Is this a sign that I need to up the CPU voltage when OC'ing?

Failure to boot usually indicates a memory problem. Either loosen the timings, drop the divider (to lower the speed, and the recommended option) or increase DRAM voltage.

Confused about Intel and AMD! Help!

Basically (and simply), 3GHz means the processor is doing something 3 Billion times every second. But, some ranges of processors does more per clock than others. AMD Athlon's do more work per clock than Intel Pentium D's or Pentium 4's. Intel Core 2 Duo's do more work per clock than all of the...

    Need a new modem/router

Why so many views but no suggestions? Surely, most of the people here are using a modem/router (phone line in, ethernet cable out) to connect to the internet. So, if you've had no problems, or those you have had were incredibly easy to fix, please tell me what modem/router you're using.

    Need a new modem/router

Recently upgrade internet conenction, and had to upgrade the modem to a modem/router to take advantage of the faster speed. However, the new hardware is, well, buggy, even with a firmware upgrade and tweaking with the settings. So, I'm going to buy a decent modem router. Basically, I need...

    Dx10

It is impossible for DX10 to work on XP. A new release of DX9 is due. It links with DX10, cant remember how. Possibly support for DX10 games, not sure.

    My Future Case. Mabe.

It's not a great case. No front intake, just a little side intake and and exhaust. As has been said, fans cant be plugged into mobo. Rear fan cable will most likely have to trail over to the front of the case to get plugged in.

Has the computer reading gone crazy

Speedfan is picking up what it thinks is a temp sensor, and is misinterpreting the data. So, ignore it.

    overclock

Yeah. Adding a registry key unlocks the Coolbits overclocking tool. Forgot about that.

    wierd problem !!

Well, my previous driver (which, at ONE point, worked perfectly fine) resulted in ATI Tool Stress Test always artifacting, some minor artifacting in 3DMark06, and a 700-ish point drop in my score at stock. (I even soaked the card in Isopropyl Alcohol to clean it, which didnt help).

    overclock

The advantage, effectively, is better performance. But, only if it's a stable overclock. A faster clock means it can process more data in the same amount of time. An unstable overclock results in data being misprocessed, and artifacts occur (basically, weird s*** when you play games). For...

    wierd problem !!

Not necessarily. I thought I damaged my card after a volt mod, but recently found out using the most recent nvidia drivers fixed everything. So, try uninstalling your drivers using Driver Cleaner. Then, go to either the Ati or Nvidia website, or use Google, and search for most recent drivers.
