    True or False?

I thought the price was $200 more because I thought the ultra was at least $750 when they first released it. I'm surprised the price is that low at newegg. Ok, so the 1-2% increase was only on some games but all the reviews say that doesn't justify the price.

    ideal temp for X1900 XTX

icons appear on one video card, start menu appears on the other

You have to disable the integrated card in the BIOS when installing a new card.

    ideal temp for X1900 XTX

Increasing the fan speed seemed to lower the temp by 6-7C but damn this card is loud. As soon as i get some money, I'll go for the cooler ETSA recommended. Also, I heard some people getting quite good clocks on stock cooling so now I really want to OC. What is the max temp I should let my card...

    Halo 3 vs. Crysis

Crysis because i think halo series is way too overrated. plus sandbox2 is so freaking awesome.

    True or False?

GTXs cost like $200 less than an ultra and to me, spending that much extra is useless. an 8800 gtx can easily play games on max settings plus im sure you can OC it to reach ultra speeds.

    ideal temp for X1900 XTX

I saw today that my X1900 XTX idles at 70C and was running at 95C under full load and this scares me. I was planning on OCing but now have second thoughts. Is 95C normal for this card? BTW, this is on stock cooling. edit : there are 3 different temperatures being reported in atitool : voltage...

    True or False?

    1. stable in what way? for overclocking? 2. I dont think a 8600 can beat a 8800 unless the 8600 was overclocked a ton 3. GDDR4 memory is used in the ati radeon X1950 series and the new X2K series IIRC 4. the ultra only gives a 1-2% increase over the GTX

problems with connecting pc to 50" hdtv

i used the red, green, blue cables to connect my pc to a 50" LCD HDTV. Whenever I turn up the resolution, the desktop goes off screen. I can still see the whole desktop by moving the mouse around but I would like the desktop to fit on the screen. My main reason for using the tv is for gaming but...

    new build Q's

The recommended PSU for a 8800 is 450W IIRC. But just to be safe, I would get a 600+W PSU in case you decide to add more hard drives, etc.

    Computer upgrading/buying questions.

First of all, building is always the cheaper option, so build one. In your case, you should buy a new motherboard, a new processor, new ram, and a new video card. keep the old case (assuming its good), the harddrive(s), cd/dvd drives, and monitor and use all that with your new pc. my friend did...

    CCC wont override settings

An option is to uninstall CCC and get ati traytools instead (google it). I had a much easier time with traytools and you can even make game profiles. I used it to force 6x AA when playing oblivion so I know it works.

Computer problem - Not sure what's causing it

Computer restarts sometimes mean overheating but I don't think you will see a BSOD in that situation. I would open it up and make sure the memory/video card is fitted perfectly in the slots. The 500W power supply should be enough to run your pc so I don't think that's a problem. If all hardware...

    Which Would You Choose

it really depends on what type of game you are playing. 25 FPS works for me on an RTS game, but for a shooter, i like to keep it around 40 or higher, especially for multiplayer.
