    512mb 4870 vs 1GB 4870

the only difference between the two cards is more ram :p chances are the circuit board, and 90% of whats on the card is exactly the same, same labour costs to make it, just a few dollars more in parts, which is why the price is fairly similar.. (the 1gig is 20% more expensive, which is a fair...

    My computer misread my overclock?

    410mhz X 8 = 3280Mhz 410mhz X 9 = 3690Mhz the multiplier is probably locked.

so how do you remove thermal paste?

I often simply use a tissue and my finger... you could also use IPA, but you probably dont need it, unless you've got the silver stuff, and its been spread places it shouldnt be :p you only need a tiny amount, more isn't more.

Quake IV not installing, XP X64 Problem?

it does work. its working on the computer I'm on right now. and thats exactly what I did. I installed it on an XP machine, it worked, copied it to another XP machine, it didn't work, installed vista on the second XP machine, didn't try Q4 then.. then copied everything from the second...

Quake IV not installing, XP X64 Problem?

you probably could have simply installed Quake 4 on another machine, and copied it over... I have a version of quake 4 on my current machine, that was installed on an AMD XP2200, copied to a 3.0Ghz P4, then copied to my E5200... the thing is, it didn't run on the P4 :p

    Cpu temp

I'm not sure about "coretemp" its reporting the CPU to be at 38 - 40 degrees now, while the motherboard software says its at 25 degrees. plus, coretemp says the frequency is 1200Mhz (200 X 6) ah, thats not right. wait... does the multiplier constantly change? :s

    Cpu temp

my E5200 appears to sit at 23 degrees all day while browsing. I don't have a computer case though, so that MIGHT help. haha also, its a 45nm so it runs cooler :) edit: alright, and coretemp says its at 38 degrees... *hmph*

    Is this a good computer?

but make sure it can actually take another graphics card and that its not inbuilt with no suitable expansion slot! apart from that, it seems good :)

I really messed up this time.

umm, why would anyone want to shoot themself in the foot twice by having two versions of windows? anyway, if the drive appears as a single block of unallocated space, then thats probably what it is. what happens if you boot "live CD" or whatever? are all the partitions and files still there?

custom case, what CPU cooler, etc... E5200

I have decided to make a small, custom case, aluminium sheeting, possibly checkerplate. the idea was to make it physically as small as possible, the size of a motherboard X the height of a PCI card. its an E5200, I'm not going to include any optical drive, single 3.5inch SATA, and a...

    SHAW 860watt tri fan...

there is no such thing as overkill. it apparently has: 3.3v @ 47amps 5v @ 50amps 12v1 @ 17amps 12v2 @ 19amps I don't really believe the figures, but thats not the point. why does the Vcore vary to much when none of the other rails appear to. it is just a poorly designed motherboard?

    SHAW 860watt tri fan...

what are peoples experiences with this PSU? I'm currently using on with an E5200, P5KPL/1600, 2gig G.Skill, 640gig HDD. anyway, most of the rails are pretty solid at a bit over what they're meant to be, however, the CPU voltage fluctuates quite badly, ranging anywhere from 1.12 volts, to...

    Hotmail, Is it gone forever?

when my hotmail account possibly got hacked, I simply emailed them, they asked for details of the account, when it was made, possible previous passwords, emails or folders that may be contained in the account, and they simply reset the password for me no worries :)
