I've never heard or seen this happen and I've been working on computers for 20 years. It MAY happen in what 1 in 100, 1 in 1000? You definitely don't want to go higher then the supported ram for OEM machines but for retail motherboards that support the faster ram, why not? Faster ram helps if you only use the onboard video too.Hardly invalid. "A lot of people did it and it worked for them" is not enough for me. Maybe he felt the same way. Shouldn´t he know all the facts before choosing? Plus I mentioned there are people who say it doesn´t happen...
