    Building a custom PC

I assume with the motherboard and cpu being in a bundle, that they are compatible. I agree with claptonman's suggestions on the hard drive. I am not sure whether a 500W power supply is good for that setup, as I don't really know that much about power supplies.

    Building a custom PC

Post links so we can check out the products easier. And so we know if you are getting the best deal. I assume you found everything on newegg? EDIT: sorry didn't see claptonman's post

Alright thanks. I'll probably try to see if I can drop it a little more.

    Web-surfing desktop build

Okay, here are the parts I have chosen so far. I haven't talked to them about this yet, this is just a preliminary build. Any suggestions? Remember, all they will be doing is surfing the web and maybe some Microsoft office programs. CPU Motherboard RAM PSU HDD Optical Drive OS(They...

Alright thanks. I'll probably be posting a build after I'm sure they want me to build them one.

so i got a few questions

They both look pretty good to me. Though some others may have better suggestions. If you want to save some money, check this RAM out: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231468&cm_re=gskill_ripjaw_8gb-_-20-231-468-_-Product

so i got a few questions

I think cad is Canadian dollars. Just a guess. As for your build, I believe you should be able to build it for pretty close to that price, though I don't have any recommended parts at the moment. I also strongly recommend newegg.

    Web-surfing desktop build

Hey well they are in their 60s and maybe 70s, I don't think they will be doing any gaming. Thanks for the advice, I'm also looking to build one, just to get more experience and stuff. As I haven't built one, but I have taken one apart and put it back together. They won't need a good video...

    Web-surfing desktop build

Alright thanks, so do you think that just buying the parts and building myself is not worth it?

    Web-surfing desktop build

Hey guys. I might be building a new computer for some friends of mine. They mainly only get on the Internet and look up stuff. I don't know what their budget is yet, but they were looking at a $450 dollar computer at an office supply store. I told them I would check some stuff out and get...

    PC via xbox

As for the Apple Media Center, I don't know how that works or anything, as I don't use any Macintosh, and nor do any of my friends. As for the accessing your computer from your living room, I know a way, but I don't think you can do it from your Xbox. I use a program called Putty.exe to be...

    Will this build be enough?

I'm not going to lie...I just laughed so hard that I couldn't breathe and I thought I was going to have to call 911. ROFLMFAO

phenom II x6 1090t or wait for the bulldozer?

Well it can depend on when you want to begin building. Now it will probably be worth it to wait, because the Bulldozers are supposed to be amazing. But that is your choice. If you aren't going to build it toward the end of June, I would just go for the Bulldozer. If you want to start asap...

what motherboard should i go with?

Yeah Zube, you should definitely go with an AM3+ board, just in case you do want the Bulldozer.

need guidance for budget gaming build

Agree with the others on the television thing. I have also heard that it can burn up your graphics card a whole lot faster.

    Keyboard and Mouse?

    alright thanks!

    New build frustrations

Oh well it was just a thought Manakore, because I know you didn't put it together until you fixed it, so I wasn't sure what problems he or you would have had.

    GPUs

Um well I don't have any specific games yet, as I haven't done too much gaming research because I don't even have the money yet to actually build my pc. But I have talked with some RL friends that have and are building computers and they are playing or going to play Starcraft II, Guild Wars II...

    Keyboard and Mouse?

Hey does anybody have any ideas for a good gaming keyboard and mouse? I would like to keep them relatively cheap, as my computer build is not very cheap at the moment and my parents are already freaking out. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    GPUs

Alright thanks. May main reason for having it is so I can not have to replace parts for awhile. I want it to still be good for most graphics intensive games like 2 or 3 years from now.
